Si Lom (or Silom, Thai: สีลม) is a road in Bang Rak district, Bangkok, Thailand.Originally constructed in 1851 as part of a dyke and irrigation system, it is has become one of Bangkoks' most cosmopolitan streets. As well as being a major shopping destination, it is an entertainment district; with both Patpong and Thanon Thaniya (Little Tokyo)having entrances from Silom Road. Silom Road runs parallel to Sathorn business district. This close proximity between two major thoroughfares has led to traffic congestion in the area that ranks among the worst in the city.
Si Lom is also the name of an MRT subway system stop at the intersection between Si Lom Road and Rama IV Road. It connects with the Sala Daeng station of the Bangkok Skytrain, the line of which is also titled Si Lom.
