From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Siemens IT Solutions and Services is a service provider which is part of Siemens AG headquartered in Munich, Germany It which provides outsourcing services for many companies such as 3Com, Coca Cola, EMC2, and Microsoft. The unit was formed on January 15, 2007, with the merger of Siemens Business Services GmbH & Co. OHG (SBS, founded 1995) with Business Innovation Center (BIC), Development Innovation and Projects (DIP), Program and System Engineering (PSE), and Siemens Information Systems Ltd. (SISL).[1]
The company has offices in more than 40 countries, including the Philippines, Canada, United States of America and many other places. Siemens IT Solutions and Services provides complete solutions from call center services to logistics.
Together with the other Siemens Groups, Siemens IT Solutions and Services provides its customers with a unique range of comprehensive, fully integrated, and sector-specific IT solutions from a single source. This is a unique selling point because there is no other IT provider so closely linked with a leading global technology group such as Siemens, or able to benefit from such direct access to customers, and leading expertise in such a wide range of market segments.
The overriding aim is to take leading positions in selected segments of the IT market and thereby generate profitable growth. The Group possesses the critical mass in many sectors, which is essential in order to properly serve these segments and gain leadership positions. This will benefit both the new alliance as well as Siemens as a whole.
The Group focuses on four key business areas: First of all, it supplements the portfolio of the other Siemens Groups with specific IT know-how: the consolidation of expertise in industry, software and IT solutions gives rise to new, one-stop solutions, with which the Siemens products and systems can be better integrated in the customers’ business processes and IT landscapes. Secondly, Siemens IT Solutions and Services further develops the existing outsourcing and IT solution business with external customers. Thirdly, it handles the worldwide operation of Siemens IT and finally develops software for the products and systems of other Siemens Groups.
The present Group President is Dr. Christoph Kollatz. The other members of the Group Executive Management are Jürgen Frischmuth, Anil Laud, Michael Schulz-Drost and Rolf Unterberger.
