Simon Minton-Connell

Simon Minton-Connell (born April 26, 1969) is a former Australian rules footballer in the VFL/AFL.

A notable journeyman, the Tasmanian full-forward from the North Hobart Football Club was pick 38 in the 1986 AFL Draft by Carlton,

He debuted for the Blues in 1988, playing 19 games and booting 50 goals, before being traded at the end of 1990 for Greg Williams and moving to the Sydney Swans, who he played 46 games and kicked 169 goals for from 1991-1993.

In 1994 the trading all started when he moved to the proud but now defunct Fitzroy Lions and kicked 31 goals in a injury plagued season featuring in only 11 games beating Haydn Buntons record for most goals within 4 matches (22 goals).

Fellow teammate Scott Bamford famously describing his feat with the now famous Fitzroy jibe "The dirty dogs got a mean set of hinds on him when his bark gets going".

He moved to Hawthorn in 1995, playing one season where he kicked 33 goals in 22 games, and finally, moved to the Western Bulldogs, where he played 25 games and kicked 53 goals between 1997-1998.

In 1999 the journeyman attempted to reignite his former flaming career to join the Essendon Bombers but failed only playing 2 games with no result.

In 2004 he played for the Moonee Valley Magpies.
