Sir John Packington (1549-1625) was a courtier in the reigns of Elizabeth I and James I.
He was knighted in November 1587, and married the following year (Dorothy, nee Smith, widow of Benedict Barnham). He died in 1625 and was buried at Aylesbury.
Their marriage was not a happy one. In 1600 they had their only child, another John. He was created a Baronet in 1620, and in the same year married Francis Ferres, with whom he had one son, another Sir John Packington (1621-1680). The first baronet died in 1624.
