[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Jammerpic.jpg
Thank you for uploading Image:Jammerpic.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Peter O. (Talk) 22:38, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Copyright problem
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Dwight Saunders, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to be a direct copy from http://en.battlestarwiki.org/wiki?title=Dwight_Saunders, and therefore a copyright violation. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted.
If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:
-
- If you have permission from the author leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Dwight Saunders and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
- If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Dwight Saunders with a link to where we can find that note.
- If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:Dwight Saunders.
It is also important that the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and that it follows Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at Talk:Dwight Saunders/Temp. Leave a note at Talk:Dwight Saunders saying you have done so and an administrator will move the new article into place once the issue is resolved. Thank you, and please feel welcome to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Happy editing! -- ReyBrujo 03:31, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
- Please note that the license of the site (Creative Commons Share Alike and No Commercial) is not compatible with the GFDL, the license being used here. Therefore, any article you may copy from that site to here will be deleted within minutes. Sorry for any problem that may bring to you. -- ReyBrujo 03:31, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Your contributions
Sith Penguin Lord, before you make any additional contributions, please read Wikipedia:Copyrights, Wikipedia:Fair use and other related policies. I just tagged all of the character biographies you copied from Battlestar Galactica Wiki as copyright violations. The license at that wiki is Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.5; the license at Wikipedia is GNU Free Documentation Licnese; the two are wholly incompatible. Furthermore, none of the images you uploaded should have been tagged with {{wikipedia-screenshot}}; they should have been tagged with {{tv-screenshot}} or {{film-screenshot}} (we don't have a {{dvd-screenshot}} tag). Also, please do not add fair use images to your user page or, for that matter, any page that is not an article; this is per Wikipedia:Fair use.
I know this post is hasty; feel free to reply here if you have any questions. --Iamunknown 05:10, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Talk page blanking
Sith Penguin Lord, please do not remove legitimate messages from your talk page, it may be considered vandalism. If you wish to archive your talk page, you should see Wikipedia:How to archive a talk page; archiving such recent messages, however, is generally not done unless one's talk page is highly-trafficked. --Iamunknown 16:33, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Your "map to Earth" image on BSG "Home"
FYI, if you click the "Tomb of Athena" link there is a nearly identical image there of what you posted already. Yours is really dark, so you might want to use the one that is already there. By the way - Wikipedia isn't a photo gallery, so adding more than one image to episode articles, and having them to begin with is an issue around here, may cause them to be deleted by users who'd like to get rid of all that kind of stuff. Cyberia23 22:38, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
- I noticed Matthew is removing some of your images because he feels they are unnecessary - I myself don't have a problem with adding more images as long as it's not overdoing it. I'd personally like to keep it in moderation because some here do have a problem with it, even having one image, and they might start edit wars and deletions if more are added. Arguments over this wage all the time, but for now the anti-screenshot crowd has lost their debates. You should give a Fair use rationale with your image which discusses why it's important to show. For an example look at the images Matthew has added (since he does all the main screenshots). Without one is grounds for deletion. Cyberia23 22:16, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
