Smita Jaykar is a famous Indian actress who frequently plays mothers and other supporting roles in Bollywood movies and TV shows.
A native of Thakurdwar in Mumbai, she is a Maharashtrian whose husband, Ramesh Jaykar, is the son of esteemed Marathi barrister Jaykar. She is renowned for her roles in Marathi television serials and scores of films. Among her 2000s films are Astitva, Mujhse Dosti Karoge! (Will You Be My Friend?), Pyaar Diwana Hota Hai (Love Is Crazy), Na Tum Jaano Na Hum, 23rd March 1931: Shaheed, Kyaa Dil Ne Kahaa, Devdas, Chori Chori, Dil Maange More (The Heart Wants More), Darwaaza Bandh Rakho (Keep the Door Shut) and Baabul.Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam
