People in South Whittier like to play their music OUT LOUD, so don't be surprised to hear Mexican band music during the weekends. This area use to be a semi-drug haven, though I'm not sure of that. Once in a blue moon you will actually see one horse or two on the street. I'm sure most people in this area have little or no access to the internet since Mexicans don't really care for high-technology material (in general). Cops in helicopters are sure to be present because we have idiots who break the laws, therefore disturbing the neighbors. The crime rate is in between South-Central Los Angeles and Cerritos or Downey because it looks kinda dangerous but rarely anything dreadful happens. During 4th of July beware because the people can get a little crazy having illegal fireworks shoot up from their yard, sometimes on the street during traffic (once in a while). Know a little Spanish before you visit around this area.
