[edit] Wiki Interest
I'm new to wikipedia and I'm mostly interested in music. Most of my contributions have been music related.
[edit] A matter of conscience that I don't know what to do with:
We take our ecosystems for granted, but as amazing and full of activity as our large cities are, in their current numbers and sizes they are not sustainable. As a result our ancient forests which are the essense of sustainability will most likely not survive civilization either.
There is a diversity of manners by which one may approach these topics, but one idea representing a life-process I have found to be both consistantly fascinating and underrated is photosynthesis. Animals (that's us) are entirely dependant on it; we know this, but yet we do far more to destroy this process than to foster it.
There is the concept of seventh generation; it's a good one. Seven is a good number of generations to consider because it effectively gets us beyond our current self-obsessions. Generations beyond seven become difficult for us to conceptualize. Yet, I would like to add that as a species we are 300,000 years old. Becuase we have reached a pivotal point, if we aren't done for there many more than seven generations to consider. We actually need to plan in practice for the 3,000th generation, do we not?
Practicing collective amnesia to keep our jobs...
