Stranded is a season 3 episode from the TV series, The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius.
[edit] Plot
Butch is in the middle of teaching other kids how to be bullies when his class is interrupted by some intense arguing. Everyone looks over to find it is none other than Jimmy Neutron and Cindy Vortex, at it about if the equator is real or imaginary.
Cindy insists that it is real, but you can't see it from some countries, while Jimmy insists it isn't. In order to prove his point, Jimmy takes Cindy, Carl, Sheen, and Libby to the exact coordinates of the equator. Like he says, there isn't anything there. Cindy continues to argue that there is, and that he just isn't looking hard enough. So Jimmy puts the hover car on auto pilot and leans out of the front with Cindy. As Cindy tries to point it out, she and Jimmy both plummet off the side of the hover car into the ocean. The car becomes out of control and sends the others in the opposite direction.
A while later, Jimmy and Cindy end up on deserted island. Both try to blame each other for the mishap, resulting in them making separate camps. Both attempts fail and they agree to a truce. So, the duo heads into the jungle to look for fresh water. Someway through, Jimmy says they must find water in 96 hours or else they die, not realizing a giant Venus flytrap is about to eat him. Noticing this, Cindy tackles Jimmy to the ground, saving him in the nick of time. Jimmy thanks her for saving his life and they move on, only to find a giant spider web.
Meanwhile, back in the hover car, Sheen is determined to take off the autopilot and rescue Jimmy. However, he is totally oblivious to the fact that there is an off button and starts to randomly rip parts out, causing the hover car to malfunction once again. Not hanging around to find out what made the web, Jimmy and Cindy rush deeper into the jungle. Some hours later, they are nearly at the water source. Jimmy is about to mention this when he discovered Cindy being strangled by a boa constrictor. He manages to get the snake to eat ginseng, a muscle relaxant, thus freeing Cindy. There is little time to celebrate though, because the snakes came in a pack. Jimmy and Cindy manage to run to a cliff, over which is a lake. With the snakes closing in, they take their risks with the 100 foot jump to the water below.
Back on the island, Jimmy and Cindy are enjoying a particularly nice oasis in the jungle. Jimmy is swimming, while Cindy is on the shore making smoothies. They start to talk and Cindy says "Jimmy, why do you think we always fight back home?" He was about to answer when he realizes that she just called him Jimmy (No one knew that she knew Jimmy's real name because she was always throwing insults at him.) He has been fighting with Cindy so long, he has forgotten what they were fighting about, and vise versa. Together, they plan to hang out the next day.
Back in the hover car, Sheen had discovered the autopilot off button. The gang thus resumed their search. Carl monitored the gauges, while Sheen and Libby scanned the ocean for Jimmy and Cindy. Libby asks how they are on fuel after a few minutes, and Carl says they are fine because they are on E. Libby tells Carl that that means empty, and the hover car plunges to the ocean.
The next morning, everything is hunky dory on the island. Cindy and Jimmy make breakfast together, as well as participate in numerous activities, including riding sea turtles, and monkey in the middle (with an actual monkey). Slowly, their relationship begins to flourish. That night, around the firelight, Jimmy says he has a present for Cindy, and reveals an oyster with a pearl inside. He said "While you were out gathering food, I just went through a few oysters, 137 to be exact." Cindy says that's the nicest thing anyone's ever done for her, and they hold hands.
In the hover car, Sheen is starting to think this is the end, and Carl is hunched over in the corner eating something. Sheen and Libby are horrified to learn that it was candy, and try to see if he has anymore by tackling him.
The next day, Jimmy is out collecting food, while Cindy is in a grove of palm trees carving J and C Forever in a heart shape on a tree.
Libby and Sheen are surprised to find that Carl has some oranges. They are about ready to tackle him, when he tells them they came from the island in the distance. They row the hover car to the shore only to discover Jimmy and Cindy. Jimmy is thrilled to see it, while Cindy is very sad. Jimmy tells everyone what he needs to make more fuel, and they set off to find the ingredients. Cindy, not having been assigned a task, returns to the palm grove. Libby is waiting for her and asks "what's up" between her and Jimmy. In a laugh that's just a little too fake, she replies nothings up. Libby then moves away from the tree she was in front of, to show the little carving Cindy had made.
Jimmy had all the necessary ingredients, except one. Sheen didn't bring shale, but spider eggs, not to mention the giant spider that laid them. The spider rushes to the hover car to try to retrieve the eggs from the fuel tank. The gang hides behind a large rock, and Cindy mentions “Jimmy, that must have been the spider that made the web we saw earlier!". Everyone notices that she called him Jimmy, and both she and Jimmy laugh a nervous laugh. Jimmy eventually traps the spider temporarily by luring it under his and Cindy's tree houses, and then collapsing the houses on top of it. Everyone makes a mad dash for the hover car, except Cindy. She says that she and Jimmy could conquer the spider and stay on the island. Jimmy takes a moment to think about it.
Apparently, everyone decided to return home because they are now at the Candy Bar. Carl, Sheen, and Libby are enjoying tropical smoothies, while in the next booth; Cindy and Jimmy are arguing about whether Australia is a continent or a country. They argue until their hands touch each other. Then they both run out of The Candy Bar to the hover car to visit Australia.
[edit] Quotes
Jimmy: Oh and one more thing... (imitates monkey)
Cindy: Oh, that's not funny!
Libby: Well, what does the fuel tank say?
Carl: It's fine, it's on E... for engorged with gas...?
(The hover car crashes down towards the ocean)
Libby: Quick, assume crash position!
Carl & Sheen (obviously not knowing what that means): Oh, okay, if you say so. (does weird-like poses)
Libby: You know what, just go back to the screaming.
Sheen: Anybody with a brain knows that 'E' stands for... eh, 'Elp yourself to some gas!'
Sheen: Right, so let's cut to the chase, who's eating who.
Carl: Who's eating whom.
Sheen: That's it, just for that I'm eating you!
Carl: Not unless I eat you first!
Sheen: I'll eat you in your sleep!
Carl: You better not...
Libby: I'm gonna chow down both of you if you don't keep quiet!
Carl: She's right.
Sheen: Kiss-up.
Sheen: Promise to remember me, Libby.
Libby: Sheen, it's only been -
Sheen: Promise me!
Libby: I promise!
Libby: Sheen, you can't throw Carl overboard.
Sheen: Why not?
Libby: Cause he might have more food on him!
Jimmy: Would like to uh, i dont know...hang out tomorrow?
Cindy: Hmm, I may have to move some appointments around but what the heck, I accept!
Jimmy: Wuju!!! (he trows himself at the lake)
Sheen: What if you're a mirage?
Libby: Keep talking if you want a mirage slap on yo' face.
[edit] Trivia
- This episode has the most J/C moments, over nine.
- Jimmy, in reality, is right about the equator, but Cindy and Jimmy are both right about Australia, that it is both a country and a continent. This is an example of common misinterpatation that Australia is only one of the two choices, rather that both.
- The title of this episode is similar to the title of the show "Lost".
- Sheen never found the shell rocks, so the gang could not return to Retroville.
