Stuart Nicholson (born February 3, 1987) is an English footballer who is contracted to Football League Championship club West Bromwich Albion F.C., and is currently on loan at Bristol Rovers.
Nicknamed-- "The Knife" because of his sharpness infront of goal.
Nicholson, a striker, made his Premiership debut on January 21, 2006 in the 0-1 loss against Sunderland F.C. at The Hawthorns, when he replaced Nathan Ellington who he describes as his Childhood hero. He was given a place in the first team squad for the 2006/7 season, and marked his first start with a goal against Leyton Orient on August 24 in the first round of the Carling Cup.
During the 2006-07 season, Nicholson had a loan spell at Bristol Rovers. He was due to spend three months there, but was recalled four weeks early by West Brom,[1] before returning to Bristol Rovers for a second loan spell during the same season.[2]
Unusually for someone born in the north-east of England, he has been a Bristol Rovers fan since being given a Bristol Rovers shirt as a present when he was 14. Stuart scored a brace on the 17th March against Notts County and followed it up with the winner against Stockport County on the 20th March, both games at the Memorial Stadium.[3]
