Super Robot Wars Alpha
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Super Robot Wars Alpha (スーパーロボット大戦α supaa roboto taisen alpha?, abbreviated as "SRW Alpha" or "SRWα"), is part of the Super Robot Wars franchise, and was published for the Playstation by Banpresto. It is the initial game of the Alpha series which spans the Playstation and Playstation 2 platforms. Chronologically, Alpha is directly followed by Super Robot Wars Alpha Gaiden.
It is notable for being the first SRW game to feature fully animated attacks, as well as pioneering the Skill Point system, which affects the game's difficulty and influences which optional pilots and units will join the player's roster, among other things.

[edit] Dreamcast Version
The Sega Dreamcast version of SRW Alpha featured 3D battle animations in contrast with the Playstation version's 2D sprites. An additional robot, G-Breaker from Bandai's Sunrise Eiyuutan, was also included, making this the first game in the SRW franchise to feature a mecha from a game produced by a different company.
