Aspirin

Aspirin is a drug. It has many uses, but is most commonly used against minor pains, against fever or inflammation. It also has an antiplatelet effect - it reduces the number of platelets in the blood. In that function it is used to prevent heart attacks and cancer. The prime ingredient of the drug is acetylsalicylic acid.
The brand name is trademarked by the German firm Bayer.
