Barry Sadler

Barry Sadler (November 1, 1940 – September 8, 1989) was an American soldier, songwriter and author. In 1966, He recorded a song called "The Ballad of The Green Berets". It was the biggest selling song that year. He later helped write the "Casca" series of books. He died after being shot in the head, shortly after serving a prison sentence.
