Tech-Com
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Tech-Com is the resistance force of freed human beings in The Terminator universe. The force is formed by John Connor, a human being who leads Tech-Com to resist the robotic forces of Skynet.
[edit] War Against Machines
After the resistance army was started by Connor, a global war raged between Skynet and Tech-Com forces. However, as Skynet was an advanced AI, it began turning the tide of the war towards its favour. Connor and his forces made one last offensive in North America, destroying the Skynet Headquarters in what was once the Cheyenne Mountain Complex. However, Skynet had already researched time travel, and had sent back 3 killer machines (T-800 "Terminator", T-1000, and T-X) to kill John Connor in three different time periods. Connor sends back three of his own agents, Kyle Reese and two reprogrammed T-800/850 Model 101, to stop the machines, leading to the events of the Terminator movies. It is assumed that since all of the Tech-Com soldiers sent back in time were successful in protecting their targets that Connor goes on to lead the human race to victory over the machines by destroying the Skynet HQ, thus saving humanity.
Predestination paradoxically, Kyle Reese was revealed to be John Connor's father. Connor's childhood friend Katherine Brewster, was his second in command of Tech-Com and wife.
In Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Jose Barerra, William and Elisabeth Anderson, Gen. Robert Brewster (Katherine's father), and sixteen other possible victims who were supposed to lead the Resistance with John and Katherine, are terminated by the T-X in 2004. It is unknown how this loss of important personnel affects Tech-Com.
