The Luchagors is a punk rock band based in Atlanta, Georgia. It is fronted by Amy Dumas, better known as Lita to WWE fans. When she retired at the 2006 Survivor Series, she wore a Luchagors T-shirt.
The band started out playing small gigs in and around the Atlanta area. Shortly afterwards, four tracks made their way around the internet. Three can be found on the band's MySpace ("White Boy", "All There Is" and "Already Gone"), while a live performance of "Burn" has shown up on YouTube.
Currently, they are recording their debut album, which is being produced by Skid Row bassist, Rachel Bolan. It is expected to be released in March.[1]
The Luchagors are done with recording the tracks for their album, as confirmed by Amy on March 17 on Myspace.
We just got done recording all the tracks for our new album!! Matt Robertson and Evan Bartleson came on the last two days of recording. We were so excited to be done and going stir crazy at the same time, so there is some funny stuff. More will be up on our website in the near future, but I'll let you know. For now, you're stuck w/ these- so check em- xxoo, amy The Luchagors
[edit] Trivia
- The Luchagors is a homage to the term Luchador, a Lucha libre performer. Dumas performed this style early in her professional wrestling career. It is combined with the word gore, which Amy is a fan of.
- The band's world premiere show was at the Rock-n-Shock event, which was held at the Masquerade in Atlanta, Georgia on September 14, 2006 [2]. The event took place to honor Sean Shocker.
