The Platinum Collection is a compilation album by Australian pop–dance singer Dannii Minogue. It was scheduled to be released on December 11, 2006 in the United Kingdom.
The album was to feature all seven singles from previous studio albums Girl and Neon Nights - including some special mixes of these tracks but more substantially it was to contain six shelved songs from the London Records recording sessions including "Tut Tut (Does Your Mother Know)", "Undeniable", "Each Finger Has An Attitude" and "Blame It On The Music" (a collaboration with Roger Sanchez). The Platinum Collection came as a major surprise and delight to obsessed fans who constantly cry disapointment over the delays that seem to accompany every one of Minogue's recent releases but more as a matter of fact that it will have been four years in March since Dannii has released an album of fully new material.
The album has been put back for the moment due to many complications including publishing rights, copyright problems with regard to the whole Get Into You album for an album called The Early Years which is believed to be release at the same time as TPC. Also until 2 weeks prior to original release Dannii was unaware of this compilation and wanted artistic input especially as she owned the tracks from her unreleased catalogue when she left Warner mutally in order to release a studio album which has yet to materialise on her AATW label.
Release now looks on course for May/June 2007
