The Simpsons Road Rage is a video game that was released in 2001 by Electronic Arts. The game is based on the famous television show The Simpsons, and it is part of a series of games based on the show. The Simpsons Road Rage stars Bart, Homer, Lisa and Marge Simpson, as well as Mr. Burns and over 25 other characters from the show. The game was so similar to Crazy Taxi that in 2003 Sega filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Fox Interactive, Electronic Arts, and Radical Entertainment.

[edit] Story
Mr. Burns has bought all transport systems in the city and has begun to overcharge everyone for the transportation services. The citizens of the city (managed by the game player) must earn money by driving taxis around town in order to regain control of the transport systems. The game contains 17 different drivable/collectible vehicles, 7 levels (6 are "unlockable"), and 10 different missions. In order to collect the vehicles and unlock levels, players must earn one hundred thousand dollars for each car or level they want to get. In order to complete missions, players must do certain things within a time limit (such as knocking down 12 baseball team mascots in 45 seconds).
To earn money, players must drive around a taxi for a given amount of time, picking up passengers and taking them to their destinations. Any of the vehicles that the player has collected can be used as taxis. Players have to avoid certain hurdles, such as other vehicles that spin out of control, rocks, flying street objects and houses on difficult curves. As time goes by and the players pick up more and more passengers, these obstacles become more and more difficult.

[edit] Trivia
- At the First Church of Springfield, the church billboard reads "Services in Esperanto now cancelled". This is a satirical reference to the international auxiliary language Esperanto, which has a relatively small speaking population of two million. Few religious services are carried out each year in Esperanto and none in the United States of America.
- Near the school if you drive and look through a window there is a chalkboard that says "This is not a clue...... or is it?" This is the same chalkboard gag that was used in the opening sequence of "Who Shot Mr. Burns" part one.
- Also in the Evergreen Terrace level is a billboard saying 'Springfield Skateboarding Championship', a reference to the next Simpsons game, Simpsons Skateboarding.
- At the Aztec Theatre in the Entertainment District level, "Itchy and Scratchy: The Movie" is playing. The movie was featured in the episode of the same name.
- Several identical voice clips in this game are also used in The Simpsons Hit and Run.
- When playing as Chief Wiggum, he will sometimes say 'Just think how fast we could go if my siren worked.' The Siren actually works by holding down a certain button depending on the console.
- The Halloween Bart is actually Hugo Simpson from "Treehouse of Horror VII".
