TRAX is a three-member South Korean rock band formed in the summer of 2004 by SM Entertainment and formerly produced by X Japan's co-founder Yoshiki. The name "TRAX" stands for "recording tracks," but also stands for the first letter of each member's stage name (Typhoon of the Rose Attack on Xmas). The band made their first public appearance for Boa's eleventh single "Rock With You" in December of 2003. TRAX held its first concert on July 26, 2004 at Ziller Hall. Despite Rose's absence, TRAX continues to work as a threesome with support drummer(s).

[edit] Pre-debut
In 2000, SM Entertainment decided to produce a rock group, which took them four years to materialize[1]. TRAX members, Typhoon, Rose, and Attack first appeared in the "2002 Survival Audition HeeJun vs. KangTa Battle of the Century" along with TVXQ's Xiah Junsu and Super Junior's Sung Min and Eun Hyuk.
[edit] Debut
The TRAX is active in both South Korea and Japan. However, the band is not widely recognized in South Korea because the rock genre does not play a big role in the Korean music scene. The band also does not have a strong presence in the Japanese music scene because of the over population of rock groups and the recent flood of Korean singers trying to make their mark in Japan.
On September 3, 2006, Choi Si Won of the group Super Junior filled in as the support drummer for a performance of "초우 (初雨)" on "SBS Inkigayo".

Attack (born June 15, 1985) plays the bass for the band. His birth name is Kang Jung Woo (강정우) and going by the nickname "Dul Bong". The instrument he uses is ZON's Souns5 (SVT Classic).
