I use this account for extremely repetitious or tedious chores using semi-automated tools like AutoWikiBrowser (aka AWB), and macros + Linky + Firefox tabs (an awesome combination).

[edit] Changed shortcut for Copyright
The shortcut used to be WP:C, but it was just changed to WP:CR, along with many changes to other pages using that shortcut. Why was this done? This seems like a big change to happen with no discussion beforehand. --Milo H Minderbinder 18:17, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
- Don't worry, it's still WP:C. It's also WP:CR which is easier to remember (for those who don't already know the shortcut - "WP:CR" is the most likely guess when entering a shortcut into the search box. And since the tag is mostly posted on the talk pages of fairly inexperienced users, I've been replacing it with the shortcut that is easier for them to remember. The Transhumanist (AWB) 18:24, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
- I beg your pardon? Was there any discussion of this change? If not, I'll thank you not to change my talk comments under any circumstances. --Spartaz 18:26, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
- The original shortcut still works. "CR" is the natural mnemonic for "copyright", and is easier for new users to remember. I'm just getting people used to seeing it. The Transhumanist (AWB) 18:30, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
- No you are not going around changing shortcuts in people's talk comments because you think another shortcut is easier for people to follow. If they aren't sure they can follow the link. I consider your behaviour to be extremely out of order and would like you to stop. I also do not wish you to change my talk page comments again. --Spartaz 18:34, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
- Fair enough. The Transhumanist (AWB) 18:37, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

<deindent> Are you going to stop changing other people's comments? Spartaz 18:39, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
- I already have stopped, as per your demand (though a request would have worked just as well). I didn't mean to raise your blood pressure.
. Though I don't understand your reasoning, (since you didn't present any, and) since the link leads to exactly the same place, and is therefore harmless. Thanks for sharing your opinion. The Transhumanist (AWB) 19:03, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
- I'm surprised, given your obsession with admin training, that you hadn't noticed the guidelines on talk pages here and simply assumed that you had decided to ignore them. How can you have wracked up so many edits and not noticed that it's frowned upon to change other user's comments? The change isn't harmless. WP:C is the accepted shortcut for the page. Why should the whole community change process because you find it hard to remember it? Next time please seek consensus before making changes like this. You should also be very careful using AWB for such actions. I'm pretty sure that you are not supposed to use it for contentious changes. --Spartaz 20:49, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
- I didn't realize that shortcuts were considered part of the comments, but rather assumed they were Wikipedia superstructure. I was careful to keep the structure intact, and did not change any content context. But as soon as concerns were raised, I stopped. I also offered to help the admin who did the reverts. As for obsession, I admit, I'm a Wikipediholic all the way, though I'm not any more obsessed with adminship than with any other part of Wikipedia I've been involved with. --The Transhumanist (AWB) 23:12, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

CR was already in use by cleanup resources, did you get the input of any of the people who have been using that shortcut and will likely keep using it without knowing you changed it? At this point, you've probably made too many changes to fix yourself, hopefully an admin can sort out the mess. --Milo H Minderbinder 18:53, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
- That was a very minor shortcut, used on only a few pages. I've replaced it with WP:CUR which goes hand-in-hand with WP:CU. The Transhumanist (AWB) 19:03, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
Hi, I was a little surprised to see you had changed a page intended only for my own use, now someone has reverted. I would appreciate it if you would discuss things on my talk page before changing something on my user page or sub page. Thanks. -THB 19:18, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
- Sure thing. The Transhumanist (AWB) 19:27, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Reverted?
Have you reverted all of your changes from WP:C to WP:CR? | Mr. Darcy talk 20:11, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
- The admin Nihonjoe said he did 'em all. I offered to help, but he just whipped through 'em with his rollback feature. There's a thread about it on his talk page. The Transhumanist (AWB) 22:53, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
- I don't mind your changes at all. Thanks : )(Wikimachine 01:25, 15 December 2006 (UTC))
[edit] On Rand Reverts
Your comments to Buridan were like a breath of fresh air for me. Should you be interested, there is a request for comment on Template talk:Philosophy navigation - it is near the very bottom of the page. Best Wishes, Steve 05:04, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
- Already did. The Transhumanist (AWB) 05:07, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

- Yes, you're quick. And, you did a great job! Thanks for the advice and the link you left on my user-page. I hope people will read your comments, step forth and provide a consensus - even those who don't like Rand or her work, need to stand up for WP policy - as a matter of integrity. If I could get free of running around restoring Rand links, I'll put some time into contributions in the psychology area - I look forward to that. Best Wishes, Steve 08:20, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
- Good luck. The Transhumanist (AWB) 08:22, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

Ever since you and I began making strong comments on Buridan's crusade, there have been IP users showing up to do the deletions. Is there a way to protect some of these pages against IP users making changes - at least temporarily. I don't know if they are what people refer to as sock puppets or are just enlisted stand-ins for Mr. Buridan. Either way those deletes keep things stirred up and make it harder to achieve a consensus. I'd welcome any advice you might have. Steve 04:16, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
You generously provided me with a wealth of good advice. I'll show you that my mother raised no fools by talking it to heart. I requested MrDarcy look into putting a block on anonymous users to the List of basic philosophy topics page (after first pointing him at the wrong page. Sheesh, I shouldn't do anything till the caffine kicks in!) So, I'm off to gather and organize citations. Best wishes, Steve 19:21, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] User:The Transhumanist (AWB)/temp
Could you please remove Category:Technology from that page as I don't think this has a place under that category. Yonatan (contribs/talk) 18:16, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
- I've fixed the error in the template. Thank you for pointing that out. The Transhumanist 12:41, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Cleanup templates
Just to let you know that most cleanup templates, like "unreferenced", "fact", "cleanup" etc., are best not "subst"ed. See WP:SUBST for more details. Regards, Rich Farmbrough, 10:53 5 March 2007 (GMT).
- True, but I knew of no other way to customize the link to the discussion. It's on a different talk page than the template automatically points to. The Transhumanist (AWB) 16:17, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
- Parameter 2 with {{mergefrom}} - see Classics#0. Rich Farmbrough, 18:23 5 March 2007 (GMT).
[edit] Template:LBT backlink
Re: Template:LBT backlink, please see the discussion at Template talk:Help contents back, and consider either removing 'LBT backlink' altogether or at least moving its screen location. Thanks. --Quiddity 19:52, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
- I'll see what I can do. The Transhumanist (AWB) 20:25, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Wikipedia:List of Wikipedians by number of edits/latest
Hi Transhumanist,
Please do not add your account totals together, as you did here. This list is not updated manually. It is updated using [1]. The users on this list are not adding their account totals together. The numbers would be very different if multiple accounts (user accounts, bot accounts, AWB accounts) were added together. Since we are not doing that, it is not fair for one user (you) to add your account totals together. In the past, when users have added themselves in manually, they have been reverted with the edit summary "revert addition: this is an automated snapshot, not a manually maintained list". This list would be constantly edited by hundreds, or even thousands, of users if the list was manually updated. Firsfron of Ronchester 01:42, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
- In keeping consistent with the title of the page (edits of Wikipedians, not simply their account names), I'll deduct my AWB account, but my previous personal accounts I'm definitely adding in. Those are every bit as much my personal direct edits. The total comes to 22,387. The Transhumanist 01:52, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
