Throw Away Your Television is a song on the Red Hot Chili Peppers 2002 album, By the Way.
This song is unique on By the Way because it is one of the only songs involving more of a bass guitar emphasis. Most other songs on By the Way are noted to be very guitar oriented. The lyrics talk about giving up television and its hold on people, and how everything on TV is just the same thing.
The song has become a staple of the Chili Peppers' live show, and often features long jams in the song and the use of bongos.
