[edit] Bias
"I've been having to deal with an increasing problem with drink and drugs, and the time has come to get the professional help I need to sort myself out."
- Why have you deemed this quote irrelevant and removed it? It certainly seems more relevant to the article than what kind of car he drives. - 81.179.119.58 13:24, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Colplay Tribute
Is it true that Keane were formed as Colplay tribute but changed because Colplay said they wewren;t good ernough to be Colplay tribute so they changed to KEane, not play Colplay songs any more? Becaause I heard thsi.
- I don't know, Keane were definitely called Coldplay at one point, though - they had to change their name because it truned out Coldplay had thought of it first.
-
- First, Keane are not a tribute to [[Coldplay]] (yes with D!). They've never played or covered a Coldplay song and also, Keane was created before Coldplay. Second. The band was never called Coldplay. That was a misunderstanding cleared by Tim Rice-Oxley in 2006--Fluence 21:07, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
- I heard that Radiohead were a Keane tribute band... is that true?
- I think it's "Radioplay"--Fluence 01:38, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] About the trivia
The article actually looks better now. I don't really like trivia sections. As Richyard said, many information is unverifiable so it really needed to be removed. Why am I telling this? For some reason, this is the first Richyard edit that really makes sense to me. Keep up this edits--Fluence 22:49, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
- At the risk of being incorrect, didn't you once make an entire article dedicated to Keane trivia?--Dreaded Walrus 05:24, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, yes.--Dreaded Walrus 05:25, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
If you were a Keane fan, you would know what is verifiable and what is not--Fluence 21:41, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
- What? Keane fan? Verifiability? I didn't mention anything about those things? I was merely pointing out the contradiction in your point. "I don't like trivia sections" kind of goes against the fact that you once created an entire article specifically dedicated to Keane trivia. And either way, verifiability has nothing to do with whether you are a fan or not - it is merely about presenting sources for things, as I'm sure you're very much aware. --Dreaded Walrus 00:44, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
- "Verifiability" doesn't come from being an ardant fan of something. It's no use if YOU strongly believe in something - there has to be facts to back it all up. Your trivia without reference is no more fact than mischevious comments about Tom Chaplin's big face (often less so, as there is physical evidence for the dimension's of a person's face... but let's not get into that). Not only is what you write completely unfounded, but it is of no interest to any but the most insane Keane fan - so keep it out of Wikipedia. The Mekon 05:02, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

- If you can read, I said "sections", never articles. And there's no one caring about what did Madonna say to her daughter about the kiss she gave to Britney Spears, so her trivia article was deleted too. That's the only reason I didn't insist on keeping Keane's--Fluence 23:53, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Ipswich Town
"He's a big fan of football and is a big supporter of Ipswich Town."
There's nothing to say that Tommy is a BIG fan or supporter. It has been mentioned that he supports them, but not to that extent; besides, it is a common speculation that (and he himself has said once) he supports Ipswich because his father "is from Norwich and follows them" and he wanted to "have a little family rivalry".
I reworded it a little in the article, if that's okay. Torika 17:30, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
