Thomas Andrew Felton (born September 22, 1987) is an English actor. Born in Kensington, London, he grew up in Epsom with his mother, Sharon, his father, Peter, and his three older brothers, Jonathan, Chris and Ashley. Felton first came to attention in 1995 when he was featured in a number of television commercials. He shot to fame, however, in 1996 when he played the part of Peagreen Clock in Peter Hewitt's The Borrowers and later as Louis Leonowens in the film Anna and the King, starring alongside Jodie Foster. As of 2001 he has become internationally known for his portrayal of Draco Malfoy the bully and the enemy of Harry Potter in all of the Harry Potter films.
Felton has participation in several TV series to his credit, performing the voice of James on Bugs in 1995, a brief stint in 1999 in Farm Home Twins as Adam Baker, and playing witness Thomas Ingham opposite Clive Owen in Second Sight, also in 1999. Second Sight 2, an episode called Hide and Seek followed in 2000.
In addition, Felton is a talented singer[citation needed] and has been a member of four choirs during his childhood. He was offered a place in the Guildford Cathedral Choir.[citation needed] He also enjoys football, ice-skating, rollerblading, basketball, cricket, swimming and tennis. His favorite pastime is carp fishing. Surprisingly, Felton never read any of the Harry Potter books until after the filming of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.[citation needed]
