Toormina, New South Wales

Toormina, or Toormi is a Suburb in New South Wales, Australia in the City of Coffs Harbour. It is near the seaside suburb of Sawtell on Australia's east coast and has a small shopping centre.
The name originated from a local landowner who visited Taormina, Italy, and later subdivided his land, which he named Toormina.[citation needed]
Toormina High School is situated on Armstrong Drive and Cavanba Road.
The Shopping Centre Toormina Gardens is Pink, and has out-dated decor, similar to that of the 1980's. However resently the shopping centre has been changed to Centro Toormina
Clint Greenshields, a player for St George Illawarra Dragons, came from Toormina.
Louis Van Dartel lives in Toormina, Louis is a famous break dancer, known for the Bebop and Rocksteady Manoeuvre.
Toormina is also famous for being a guetto like such places as South Central LA. Having the highest unemployment rate in the country it is a town you certainly dont want to walk around at night. Linden avenue is a street even the local police steer clear of. Rival gangs the Sawty boys and Coffs boys regularly fight in this area. Toormina also famous for high crime rate and constant driveby's
