Train of Many Colors

The Train of Many Colors is seen at Rockaway Park-Beach 116th Street, with R33ML 9017 leading.

The Train of Many Colors is the New York Transit Museum's IRT nostalgia train used for excursions. The name comes from the fact that the cars are painted in many varying schemes from different eras.

Recently, parts of the train have been used for regular service on the 42nd Street Shuttle route. The train has run regular service in its entirety on several lines.

Models 9016-17, 9010-11, 9068-69, and 9306, as well as the R17's, were built by the St. Louis Car Company; the rest were built by American Car and Foundry Company (now ACF Industries).
