Troyes AC, full name Espérance Sportive Troyes Aube Champagne, is a French football club, based in Troyes. It was founded in 1900. The club was promoted to Ligue 1 for the 2005-06 season and their first Ligue 1 season was in 2001/02. The club became known as ESTAC in 2000 after the original club went bankrupt and the club was reformed. However, they won the Intertoto Cup in 2001 beating Newcastle United on away goals after the score was 4 - 4 on aggregate - all goals being scored in the second leg at Newcastle.
