[edit] Gauss-Lucas theorem

Thanks for the proofreading, that was the first article I've ever translated, and my first time writing anything for Wikipedia (and I decide to translate a mathematical theorem...) well, thanks again. --M.schwed 04:37, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Wavefunction

Hi Twas Now,

The appropriate title of the wavefunction article is currently debated on its talk page. All participating in the discussion seem to agree that the correct title should be "wave function", but there seems to be some uncertainty as to whether this is indeed the case. What is your opinion on the matter? MacGuy(contact me) 13:24, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

I believe it should be "wave function" as two words. Also Rpbigger makes an excellent point. I enjoyed reading this article, but she is correct that the phrase "wave function" does not only apply to quantum mechanics. For example, consider electromagnetism. In general, a wave function is a solution to a partial differential (wave) equation... How the heck did I end up here? I saw your edits to breast implant and thank you for them, and particularly your inclusion of the photograph of extracapsular rupture (which I uploaded). A single editor who makes his living puttin' em in, so to speak, has claimed ownership of the article, making it very contentious.. But one of my interests now is homeowners association which you may or may not find enlightening. Nothing like suspense and intrique. One day I will write a book entitled "Hostile Takeover" and "How to Embezzle a Million Dollars". One day (when I am 80) I will figure out what I want to do when I grow up. Until then, my avocations and vocations are rather eclectic, as you can see. Maybe I should learn French. All I know how to say is "I don't speak French."  ;-) Jance 03:39, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Paul McCartney by Richard Avedon.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. [edit] Team effort

In the spirit of reducing the amount of Wikipolicies and obviating confusion (see WP:LAP), drafts are in progress for a unified deletion policy here, and a unified protection policy here. These should really be team efforts, so since you commented on the matter earlier I would like to ask your help. The intent is not to change policy, merely to clarify and remove reduncancy; thus, anything that inadvertently changes the meaning should be fixed. We should be ready to move the drafts over the existing policies soon, but this needs more feedback and consensus, otherwise it'll just get reverted by people who "like the old thing better". Thank you for your time. >Radiant< 13:25, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Inayat Bunglawala

As I have seen from Zeq's contribution history, there is a long string of edit wars, mediations, bans, and such, so I am not surprised at this recent behavior. It is also regrettable that he is now enlisting others to collude in reverting that info back in to the article, 1, but from what I am told, there are no rules against that. So despite your findings, this is regrettably far from over for Zeq and his buds. Tarc 12:35, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

What does this has to do with anything. I amtrying to resolve this in mediation but because a one sided mediator this is detiryorating. Zeq 20:00, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Serioulsy.

A person that is one sided on an issue can not serve as mediator. can you please excuse yourself and get an impartial mediator assigned. also I suggest you read what slimvirgin wrote. meadition is to solve problem not to encourage edit wars. Zeq 19:59, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Where is the liability ?

quoting a reliable source is not liebel. If he wanted to protect his name he should have sued LGF and YNET and his employer who confirmed the story that an e-mail was sent. Zeq 20:08, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] FYI

I am trying to avoid edit wars so I placed this before putting it on the article itself:

Talk:Inayat Bunglawala#Quotes from his work

These are his own words mainly. it seems blaming zionists is an important aspect of his being and thus maybe even proud if wikipedia article expend on the issue. Zeq 08:23, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Regarding Steinbeck

I saw that you invited Nancy Steinbeck to jump into the fray with the East of Eden page. You should know that Nancy Steinbeck is bound by a court order to stay away from any of the works of John Steinbeck. Her book was found to mislead the public about her relationship with our family and the judge has bound her to stay away from the Steinbeck related pages. She is upset because I have tried to clarify certain misleading issues on the page that she created, but have decided it best to just ignore her. You would do well to do the same. Currently, we are producing "East of Eden" with Ron Howard's company. Unfortunately, Ron has been forced to drop out of the project due to contractual issues with Sony and Universal. It's Hollywood. It happens. You seem to be very persistent in assuming that you know more about this than the family. The problem with that is, that many students and Hollywood use Wikipedia for research; errors such as that are not only confusing, but they might cause other directors to avoid the project thinking that someone else is still involved.

As far as your interest in music is concerned, our attorneys are reviewing the licensing arrangements with the musicians that you have so aggressively linked to Steinbeck. If you really want to link musicians that actually mean something to Steinbeck, look to Johnny Irion and Sarah Lee Guthrie or Jackson Browne or joan Baez; who are related to Steinbeck or were awarded the Steinbeck Prize respectively. Until we find out for sure if these people are infringing upon copyrights owned by my family, then it would be appreciated if you would stop changing the site. Your changes are misleading and confusing to the public, thus are really more appropriate on another site. We can only hope that some of the WikiGnomes that contribute have enough integrity to respect the family's wishes. Thanks.

[edit] Userbox

Please help me out. An administrator, after I asked for his help to protect my userpage against vandalism, decided to put his own version of my userbox and protect it. I asked him repeatedly to unprotect it. He wants to provoke me into insulting him. The admin happens to be, as I presume, a Sephardic Moroccan Jew..coincidentally. Embargo 00:11, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Userbox..again

Hello. I'm sorry to bother you. I was wondering if you could help me out again. If you recall, I replaced the contreversial userbox with this one "This user supports resistance to hostilities" as you suggested. I removed the "Israeli" part that was contreversial. A user thought I had the right to keep the Israel part and added it to the userbox. [1] After a long talk with user:Viridae, I offered to remove the Israeli part again, because I did not want to discuss the issue any further. He then refused to unprotect my userpage and told me to remove the link to massacres. I ask for your help, to remind him of what all of us previously discussed. I made an act of good faith by offering to remove the Israeli part, even though I have every right to keep it.Emбargo 23:13, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Albums

Please don't add Category:Canadian indie rock albums to articles that are already in a subcategory such as Category:Eric's Trip albums or Category:Hayden albums. We apply the indie rock albums category to those categories, not directly to the individual albums. Thanks. Bearcat 08:26, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

Wikipedia:WikiProject Albums. Adding every individual album to the genre category results in excessive category clutter. The goal of categories is almost always to keep them to the minimum possible size, which is accomplished by using subcategories whenever possible. If Hayden ever releases a hip hop album, then that particular album can be filed in the hip hop albums category — but considering that all of his albums so far have been quite safely within the bounds of what can be categorized as indie rock, there's simply no need to file every individual album that way instead of the category. Bearcat 06:02, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] You are welcome

Thanks for your help and patiance in resolving the issue. Zeq 08:23, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

I have a comment on this "respecting the mediation process" bit. I was never in favor of laying out the full text of the e-mail response since it had no real relevance to Bunglawala and may cast undue suspicion on him, violating BLP, as I made quite clear during this process. So, I'd seen that some 3rd party people came in and stripped the page of the incident entirely, and that Zeq had reverted on the 11th. Stupid me, assuming good faith, didn't bother looking at the article itself, just noted all this in the edit summaries and figured he'd reverted back to my version #2 from mediation made on the 5th of March.
Instead, he went back further to the full e-mail version, which makes the edit summary of "This is the version agreed in mediation. don't like it ? join the mediation (see talk", at best a misrepresentation, at worst a lie.
Sorry to pop the lid off this can of worms again, but I was somewhat peeved to see this tonight, when I happened to look back in on the article. Tarc 03:28, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Mediation

There seem to be a conflict on what was agreed in mediation. I thought everything that was properly sourced can be included. please help. Thanks. Zeq 19:02, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks for a response above and beyond the call

Thanks, Twas, for your kind attention to SS Heraklion, not only did you WP:IW, but you took it upon yourself to do the much needed English and structure cleanup, as well as provide a helpful tip on the RefDesk! For action above and beyond the request for help, you deserve a toast, or if you prefer, some toast. Hats off to you. :) dr.ef.tymac 14:46, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Jonathan Arons - Notability

Hello, you have highlighted an issue of notability for my article on jonathan arons. I'm new to this and wasn't sure exactly what the problem was, but have added in some references to back up the information in the piece. Is this good enough? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Enemysprout (talkcontribs) 15:20, 30 March 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Jonathan arons - Notability ctd

I've added in mention of his tonight show appearence. Is an appearance like this a 'Published work'? If it is then he has made a number of them as can be seen through video clips on the site (which is why i referenced it). I thought he was noteworthy as he has made a number of television appearences now.

Thanks for fixing the references. I'm waiting to be adopted so i can get the hang of this stuff myself. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Enemysprout (talkcontribs) 12:00, 31 March 2007 (UTC).
