Vince Power is an Irish music venue owner who operates in [[London. He was born on 29 April 1947 in Waterford and moved to London aged 16. After many years of working in various jobs he opened his first venue, the original Meanfiddler in Harlesden in 1982.
After various successes and failures he eventually took a 50% stake in the Reading Festival in 1989, rescuing the festival in the process.
Power is a controversial figure and has a reputation as a tough businessman who sees a market and leaps to take it on. This is evident when he started the Tribal Gathering one day legal rave in the mid 1990s to take advantage of raves being made illegal by the John Major government of the time.
In 2005 he sold his major shareholding in the Mean Fiddler Group PLC and set up a company called the Vince Power Music Group.
On 19 December 2006 the Department for Culture, Media and Sport announced that he was to be made an Honorary Commander of the British Empire (honorary because he is not a British Citizen).
