Vitālijs Astafjevs (born April 3, 1971 in Riga) is a football midfielder from Latvia. As of October 2006 he has played 128 international matches and scored 12 goals for the Latvia national team. He debuted in 1992 when the national team was established, and played at the Euro 2004. He started his career in FC Skonto, and has since played for Austria Vienna, Bristol Rovers F.C., Admira Wacker, Rubin Kazan and now again he has returned to FC Skonto.
