"Wait" is a song recorded by the Beatles, from their 1965 album Rubber Soul. The songwriting credit is Lennon/McCartney, and is one of the real joint efforts between the two (Lennon wrote the verses and refrain in F# minor, and McCartney wrote the bridge in A major).[citation needed] It is a simple love song about a couple who have broken up but are now back together.
The song has the dubious distinction of being originally recorded (and discarded) for Help! in June 1965 and brought back only when Rubber Soul did not contain enough songs for a Christmas release — it was a song short. A cover version was issued as a single by Frankie Vaughan but failed to chart.
