Wayne Tunncliffe (Wayne or Wayne Allen)

Wayne Tunnicliffe (Also known as Wayne Allen or simply Wayne) is a British radio presenter who currently presents the top ten at ten show on 96.6 TFM, and the Friday Night Live and Saturday Floorfillers shows on Metro Radio. Both are local commercial stations in the North East of England and owned by Emap. Wayne was originally born in Derby but moved up to Newcastle Upon Tyne when he started DJ'ing at the Ikon Nightclub in Newcastle where he worked from 1997 - 2000. Wayne's radio career began after being spotted working at the nightclub by one of the Metro Radio bosses. He helped Metro Radio with their shows at the club and practised in the off air studios while at the station.

On boxing day 1999, he was asked to cover a show for Metro Radio. After his first show went successfully he covered many other shows before been offered the job to run the Evening Show. Wayne has also been given the job to present Friday Night Live and Saturday Floorfillers. During his seven years on the Evening Show, he made great friends with Alan Robson, another Metro Radio presenter who broadcasts the Nightowls show after the Evening slot. As well as broadcasting some special shows together, they pulled many pranks againest one another some of which almost lead to Wayne loosing his Job. Main Article Alan Robson. In March 2007, Wayne was promoted to 96.6 TFM which is based in Stockton on Tees. He presents the Top Ten at Ten show and 2 other weekend shows. TFM requested Wayne used a second name to present the show, and as a tribute to his freind Alan Robson he uses the stage name "Wayne Allen"
