We've Got a Big Mess on Our Hands
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"We've Got a Big Mess on Our Hands" is The Academy Is...'s first single from their 2007 Fueled By Ramen release, Santi. The video has been released several times via their Myspace profile.
[edit] Music Video
The music video starts out with lead singer William Beckett facing a mirror until his reflection ceases to follow his movements and comes to life, punching him and storming out in the process. His alter ego runs about the town, causing chaos and masquerading as Beckett. The video takes on an evil twin theme as Beckett deals with this turmoil, at one point even turning to Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz. Beckett calls Wentz, whom appears to be preparing for work with his own band while having monkeys working on his make-up. The video then culminates in the ultimate face-off between Becketts as the real one engages in a fight with his reflection who is busy singing for the band at a concert.
[edit] Trivia
- The video features Pete Wentz as well as head of Crush Management, Bob, who is wearing clothes from Wentz's Clandestine Industries.
- Butch Walker, the producer of Santi, is also featured in the video.
- The conversation setting between William Beckett and Pete Wentz is from Fall Out Boy's new music video, "Thnks fr th Mmrs."
- William Beckett could possibly be suffering from the syndrome of subjective doubles.
- In the background of one scene, the words "TAI Santel" can be seen as grafitti, but with the e and l crossed out in favor of an i, in reference to Santi, the title of TAI's new album.
