[edit] Your edit summaries

I have noticed recently that your edit summaries are getting a little close to the bone. I wonder if you wouldnt mind giving it a rest. regards--Vintagekits 19:15, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

Welcome back after your ban my friend Weggie 19:55, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
I've been back a while. Hope you are having a good day. I have also noticed that you have become involed with some of the "lock step crew" as Mr Darcy calls them.--Vintagekits 19:56, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
Leave me out of the bickering thanks. I prefer to stick to constructive activity Weggie 11:54, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Chronology of Continuity IRA actions

If you get a minute can you take a look at this for me please, as you're generally good at finding sources for things I can't. There's only a few I can't source, and I'm thinking about removing the July 1997 New Barnsley attack as the Provisionals claimed that. Thanks. One Night In Hackney303 18:00, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

Thanks, I'll remove those then. One Night In Hackney303 17:39, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
Can you keep an eye on the article as well please? The anon IP editor from the main article has started editing with predictable results, and I'm unsure of how frequent his edits are and it's too early to get the page protected. Thanks. One Night In Hackney303 23:10, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Dessie O'Hare

I have removed the NPOV tag, as you have given no explanation on the talk page for this, as the tag stipulates. An edit summary is not the way to do this, and I didn't understand what you meant in it anyway. Tyrenius 02:15, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Oops

I'll put that down to an honest mistake rather than a POV edit, I moved it to the right place for you anyway. One Night In Hackney303 23:06, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

Lol - cheers it's getting late :0).

No problem. Can I get some input on the UDA talk page please? I'm not keen on being bold and making a decision one way or the other in terms of combined/seperate figures. Thanks. One Night In Hackney303 07:06, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Kate Lagan

someone has removed the the speedy delete tag. Go ahead and AfD it if you wish, you would have my support. She wasnt elected as an MLA so doesnt carry state/province notability.--Vintagekits 14:54, 14 March 2007 (UTC) Ok - will set up tonight Weggie 15:00, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Guidelines - which ones?

Hello,

On March 16 2007 you removed from the Pearse Jordan article two links to music recordings of the song "Pearse Jordan" at YouTube.([2]) You stated in the annotation: "Remove utube material as per guidelines". What guidelines were you referring to, please? Itayb 15:41, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] hey

Why do you insist on taking the entry for my boss Robert Coulter and converting it into an entry for a politician?

Make your own entry for him, or just give up this one and let's both start our own stuff.

No offence intended but I believe your article was deleted as a non-notable biography (see WP:NOTABILITY) so I didn't delete anything myself. I should seek advice on how to proceed from an Administrator on whether you can re-add the article as there are specific rules which I'm not too sure about. However, please do not make any changes to the Coulter article as there are now 'load' of wikilinks to this article which will be corrupted. I will add a link to your new page if you are allowed to re-add it so that it will be easy to find your Coulter. Hope this helps Weggie 19:11, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
See here. I've already left a comprehensive rebuttal on the talk page. One Night In Hackney303 16:41, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Aye Cho

Please dont remove the categories from articles without prior discussing on the talk page. Okkar 16:14, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

I hope my edit summary history will provide the reason for the change. happy to answer any questions on the rationale on the article talk page. Weggie 17:02, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Republican Sinn Féin

There is a discussion in the talk page about your trying to put such categories on these articles, where users disagreed with you doing so, so please revert your last edit and discuss the matter.--padraig3uk 12:21, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

It's a brand new category created by Damac. There is no discussion about this cat. Suggest you create one instead of edit warring Weggie 12:38, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
Its basicly the same as the last one, only this one specifies the US.--padraig3uk 12:44, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
It's not the same and it's 100% accurate - just because you or your SF pals don't like it tough Weggie 12:48, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
I don't see where you get the impression I work for Sinn Féin I have never worked for that party nor am I a member. I could report that remark as a personal attack against another user.--padraig3uk 12:54, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
Oh right. I just remember you posting about your adminship on a SF blog. Apologies if that was not you? Weggie 12:56, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
Iam a Admin on another wiki, nothing to do with SF or any republican group, you may be refering to a email I posted from Sinn Fein giving me permission to use any content from their websites for use in the wiki, which was posted because of a copyright issue was raised.--padraig3uk 13:04, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

Weggie, there is a very strict rule about not posting information about anyone's RL activities (whether true or false) on wikipedia. Blocks for this can be up to indefinite. You are also breaching WP:CIVIL and WP:NPA. I suggest you step back and cool off for a bit. Posting in your current state of mind could land you in hot water. Tyrenius 20:35, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Provisional Irish Republican Army

Sinn Féin and the IRA are two seperate organisations, you should not catagorise one as part of the other, the correct way to do that is have a Category:Irish Republican Movement and add both Sinn Féin and the IRA to that.--padraig3uk 12:54, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

[redacted per WP:BLP] the Cat is justified Weggie 12:58, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
Please don't make negative comments about living people unless you provide rock solid sources to go with such remarks. Tyrenius 20:28, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] SF and IRA

Please see from this link that the IRA and SF are 'inexorably linked' in words of the spokesperson for the PM of the United Kingdom and Great Britain and Northern Ireland [3]. Please therefore use this link rather than simply deleting references to the links between SF and the IRA. A yahoo search will provide multiple media references in the same vein. Does WP:BLP extend to organisations? Please demonstrate this to me Weggie 23:55, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

The PM of UK etc is only one POV, and cannot be used as justification for making the statement you want to in a blanket fashion. I understand that SF deny the link, so any use of other sources must be done in a balanced fashion where the SF view is also represented. The PM of UK's view can be used in an article to state his opinion, in balance with other opinions. It is anyway not incumbent on me to find refs for statements inserted by other editors without refs. Re. BLP, are the organisations comprised of living people? Tyrenius 00:11, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
So a phrase such as 'these people assert SF and the IRA are linked but SF deny this' would be sufficient in your view and not be simply removed as a BLP violation? Weggie 00:17, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
Weggie, Sinn Féin or the IRA have never denied that they have links, in that the two organisations are both part of the Republican Movement, and that some members of one are or have been members of the other, that they share the same political aims of a United Ireland. But they still remain two seperate organisations, with seperate leadership structures etc, some members of the IRA may also be or where members of Sinn Féin, but not all of them, in fact many members of the IRA would not support Sinn Féin politicaly.--padraig3uk 01:40, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
I'm not interested in your opinion only how to present sourced material on Wiki. I'm aware of the SF party line thanks Weggie 02:49, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] James Denton (gay activist)

Hi. If you want this deleted, could I suggest taking it to WP:AFD? - Richard Cavell 05:52, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

Done Weggie 14:34, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/James Denton (gay activist)

I fixed this up for you. - Richard Cavell 22:55, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Brian Nelson

I'm currently working on a page for him, which should be finished in the next couple of days. However I'm a bit worried about what to call the page, as even titling it could have POV problems. The Brian Nelson disambiguation page currently points to Brian Nelson (terrorist) which is obviously a non-starter. Brian Nelson (loyalist) is possible, but I'm concerned that gives the impression that all loyalists colluded with the security forces, so I was thinking Brian Nelson (British agent)? Thanks. One Night In Hackney303 20:57, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

The issue is disputed and WP:BLP applies here - I suggest something locational (Northern Ireland). Weggie 22:43, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] DUP logo in the infobox

I'm no expert on image copyright rules, but I can't see any justification for using the logos in the articles on members of the parties. It seems pretty clear to me that they are only fair use in the articles on the parties, or in an article which specifically discusses the logo, should there be one. [edit] 3RR

I have reported you for breaching the 3 revert rule, details are here. One Night In Hackney303 14:17, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

While your WP:3RR block was declined, I am going to reccomend that you read WP:CIVIL and WP:NPA as a good measure to make sure you do not get blocked for uncivil behavior. Thanks! -- Chrislk02 (Chris Kreider) 14:33, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Lucie Blackman

Hi, I posted on the talkpage concerning the "prostitution in Japan" link, but I didn't revert your edit (sadly that seems to be the only way to call users' attention to the talk page) so maybe it went by you unnoticed? Anyways, I would much appreciate your views on the subject. Thank you in advance, Mackan 19:39, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

Apologies, I did miss it - I've replied now though. Cheers Weggie 19:43, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
