William Rishanger
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
William Rishanger, nicknamed "Chronigraphus" (born 1250) was an annalist and monk of St. Albans.[1]
Rishanger wrote what is in effect a continuation of Matthew Paris's "Chronicle," and practically a history of his own times from 1259 to 1307, which is both a spirited and trustworthy account, albeit in parts not original.
There is some doubt over his date of birth as this would suggest he was nine when continuing Matthew Paris's "Chronicle," which would seem unlikely.
