Worcester Technical High School

Worcester Technical High School is a vocational-technical high school in Worcester, Massachusetts, U.S.A. It opened on August 28, 2006 replacing the old Worcester Vocational High School (formerly Worcester Boys Trade School) in the middle of downtown Worcester. The school serves grades nine through twelve.

The school is divided into four academies as follows:

• Alden Academy Named after local businessman George I. Alden, the academy offers programs in drafting, automotive technology, auto collision, machine shop, and electro-mechanics.
• The Business Academy offers programs in finance, graphic arts, telecommunincations, and other various related topics.
• The Health Academy offers programs in home health assistants, cosmetology, and childcare.
• The Construction Academy offers the most popular programs, such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.

All students are enrolled in the basic academic courses offered at a regular public high school. In addition, all students select a program in which they will major in for the four years in high school. Half the school takes academic courses one week and their trade area the other week.

The school day is from 7AM-1:45 PM, with several after school and night school programs.

The school does not offer advanced placement courses or language courses due to the scheduling of classes.

Worcester Telegram & Gazette columnist Clive MacFarlane thought that the school was "technically incomplete".
