The Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox, or Y-D Red Sox, are a team in the Cape Cod Baseball League. The Red Sox play their home games in Yarmouth, Massachusetts, and they are the defending (2006) CCBL Champions and winners of 2 out of the past 3 league titles, also winning in 2004. They also hosted the 2006 Cape Cod Baseball League All-Star Game. They play in the league's Eastern Division along with the Brewster Whitecaps, Chatham Athletics, Harwich Mariners and Orleans Cardinals.

The Red Sox play their home games from mid-June until early August. Governed by an executive committee, the team plays its home games at one of the finest facilities in Cape Cod at Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School. Since the field doesn't have lights games typically start at 5:00 PM, until the last few weeks of the season when the shorter days cause game times to be pushed up to 4:30 pm. The field has become symbolic of the league, with spray-painted lines and a logo behind home plate, as well as the vast variety of music and the engaging attitude of public address announcer Joe Rubin.
Additionally, the Y-D Red Sox are the official home of the Sinker Burger and the Hurler Burger. The Sinker is a hamburger on a donut, with three varieties: down-the-middle, low-and-away, and high-and-inside (plain, powdered, and cinnamon). The Hurler, for those more adventurous, is a hamburger with a squirt of easy cheese gently nestled in the loving halves of a lightly-grilled jelly donut.

[edit] History
The Red Sox have enjoyed much success in the 21st century, winning the championship twice in the past 3 seasons. They defeated Falmouth to win the 2004 championship, and came back to bear Wareham after trailing 1-0 in a best-of-three series in 2006. The Red Sox have captured a total of 4 Cape Cod Baseball League Championships, and were defeated in the finals on two other occasions.
[edit] Red Sox in Media
The Red Sox hosted the 2006 All-Star Game, which was broadcast on National Public Radio on Cape Cod. The game was broadcast by the team's play-by-play announcer, Dan Rubin, and the League's Director of Public Relations, John Garner.
In the 2001 movie Summer Catch, scenes where the Chatham A's play on the road at Y-D were filmed at Red Wilson Field.
