Sidhoji Rao Shitole (born May 10, 1944), known by the self-assumed title Yogiraj Gurunath Siddhanath (lit. "king of yogis, guru of the Nath sect," and "Nath siddha") is an Indian writer, poet, guru, yogi, and teacher of yoga. He is the founder of Hamsa Yoga Sangh.
Shitole is a householder yogi. When he is not touring, he lives in Pune, Maharashtra, India with his wife of over 30 years, Shivangini. They have two sons: Shivraj, a classical Indian musician, and Rudrasen, an engineer[citation needed].

[edit] Background
According to Shitole's autobiography, he was born to Krishnarao Raje and Sou Snehalata Raje Shitole, descendents of the Shitole and Sisodia ancestral dynasties of Gwalior. He was educated at Sherwood College in Nainital in his youth, and in 1967 completed his studies with a Bachelors degree from Fergusson College in Pune, Maharashtra, India.[1]
In his autobiography, Wings to Freedom: Mystic Revelations from Babaji and the Himalayan Yogis, Shitole relates that he spent his early years in the Himalayas amongst the Nath Siddhas, in whose presence he was transformed.[1]
[edit] Teaching and mission
Shitole teaches yoga practices for the purpose of evolution of consciousness. He defines yoga as "An inner ascent through ever more refined and ever more expanded spheres of consciousness, to get to the Godessence, which lies at the core of your own being. Once you contact this divine Indweller, you can contact the universal Indweller."[1]
