Kevin Ayers

Kevin Ayers (* 16. August 1944 in Hernebay) ist ein britischer Musiker.
Ayers war eine zentrale Figur der "Canterbury Scene" und ab 1966 Bassist der Artrockband Soft Machine. 1968 stieg er aus um eine Solokariere zu starten. Er arbeitet mit Musikern wie dem Komponisten David Bedford, dem Saxophonisten Lol Coxhill, Brian Eno, John Cale und Nico zusammen. Später war er Gründer und Chef der Band Whole World, in der unter anderem Andy Summers und Mike Oldfield mitgespielt haben.
