Black Metal (1982) |
At War with Satan (1983) |
Black Metal is the second album by Venom, and the origin of the term "black metal". It was released in 1982 and is considered one of the most important albums to the extreme metal movement, most notably the emerging thrash metal, death metal and black metal scenes of the 1980s and 1990s.[citation needed] However, it should be noted that the album's musical content is different from what is now considered "black metal".
The song "Black Metal" was featured on the soundtrack to Tony Hawk's American Wasteland.
In 2005 it was voted the 68th best British album of all time by Kerrang! readers.
