Immigration New passport : Applied for a new passport for my wife on Dec 28, 2006 since the expiry of the current one is in June 2007. The new one should be ready on January 11th and needs to be picked up from the consulate. The documents required are 4 passsport photos (got digital photo, took valet size prints at Walgreens; Get just one print and you get a 4X6 size one with 4 pictures in it which can be cut into 4 seaparate passport size ones), application form printed off the consulate site at www.cgisf.org, existing passport, $40 in cash, marriage certificate copy (in case husband's name needs to be endorsed on passport) and a visiit to the consulate. Since it was hand delivered to the consulate I need to pick it up myself. Rather if it had been mailed in then they would mail it back - lessons learned :). Citizenship : Soon to be applying for US Citizenship in january 2007. Form N-400 for applying Citizenship is located at www.uscis.gov. There is an interview and the questionaire for it is available at www.immigration.com. There are also books on this subject but this will give an idea. Best time for a name correction is during this time.
