[edit] Copyright issues
Revolutionary, the rules of Wikipedia state that you may not submit material for which you do not own the copyright. You can only submit material if:
- You created it,
- The material is public domain, or
- Wikipedia has written permission from whoever created it.
Furthermore, anything that you create and then submit is GFDLed, which means you no longer own exclusive copyright. This assertion on your user page is redundant -- by contributing, you are automatically giving permission to everyone and anyone to mercilessly edit your submissions.
There is a more thorough (and authoritative) description of the rules at Wikipedia:Copyrights. More things to read: Wikipedia:Tutorial, Wikipedia:NPOV tutorial (POV and NPOV discussed), and Wikipedia:Image_use_policy.
I am writing this because I saw your post to Main Page. While the tip was in good faith, it is not a good way to acquire images for Wikipedia (most of them are not free for the taking).

- Apparently, you still don't understand. Revolutionary, I just saw the way you added an entire article from Encyclopaedia Britannica to the Apartheid article, here on Wikipedia. While the content is surely valid, there are rules that prevent users from adding that kind of content here, because it's copyrighted. That means that information is protected by law. It is considered intellectual property of whoever created it, and for that reason, you can't add it here. What you can do, however, is to read all that, create your own understanding of the text (interpreting it), and then add to the Apartheid article all the things you feel that could be good contributions to the page. That you can do. It's also a good idea to cite your information sources, when it's clear that you're basing yourself on somebody else's work.

If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{fairusein|article name}} or {{fairuse}}. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by going to "Your contributions" from your user page and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Revolutionary's response: I don't know the license... and I have no idea how copyright works... Just... delete that picture if it violates anything before it causes some hassle. I don't know why I keep myself on this site if I have no idea how copyright works. I don't want to go through something like the beginning again.
