[edit] Solo Career After Blue
His first single, "Lay Your Hands", was released on 22 August 2005, and reached #4 on the UK Singles Chart. His second, "No Worries" also reached #4 in November. Right after the release of his second single, the debut album, "Sanctuary", was released. Despite its #28 debut on the UK album charts, the album began to climb in its later weeks. On 13 March 2006, nearly 4 months after its release, the album went to #7 in the official charts making its second appearance in the top 10. The third single released from Simon's album, "After All This Time", was released in February and failed to become Simon's third consecutive solo Top 10 hit, entering at #16.
In September, Webbe's official site revealed that the 1st single from his second album would be released on 30 October 2006. The song, "'Coming Around Again", is described as "an uplifting slice of soulful pop" and "a reminder of the highlights in your life". The single peaked at #12 in the UK Singles Charts, and the album, "Grace", was released on the 13 November just missing the top 10 at number 11 2006. After poor sales of his last single, "My Soul Pleads For You", which failed to make the top 40, becoming the second worst chart position for an ex-Blue member, and Simon has since parted with his record label Innocent Records.
