"Step Up" is the third single of The Cheetah Girls's second movie soundtrack The Cheetah Girls 2. It officially premiered on Radio Disney on August 17, 2006. The single became available for download off of iTunes on August 31, 2006. The song has a pop, Hip-Hop and Rap sound and was produced by Matthew Gerard and Robbie Nevil.

The Cheetah Girls did not shoot a video for the single because the song was from their new movie The Cheetah Girls 2 and was used to promote the movie. Because of that, the video for the song features clips from the movie and the girls dancing and singing and performing for a new crowd of people which is also a clip from the movie/musical. This video shows many similarities to The Party's Just Begun music video. It premiered on August 17, 2006 on Disney Channel.

- This was the follow-up single to Strut but was released right after Strut was though oddly, Strut was more successful than Step Up.
- "Step Up" was bubbling under the Hot 100 at No. 6 for the week of 9-16.
- There are also some similarties between this video and the video for "Buttons" by The Pussycat Dolls: both girl groups leaning on a bar and dancing while wearing black clothing in front of lots of lights.
- The music video was first seen on Live With Regis and Kelly in July 2006. The full-length music video then premired on Disney Channel.
