Someone who is a duke is part of the nobility.
A duke is higher than a count but lower than a king.
A female duke is a duchess.
The wife of a duke is a duchess.
The land that is ruled by a duke is a duchy.
The son of a duke inherits the duchy when the duke dies.
The word comes from the Latin word "dux", which means leader.
