Šipovo

Šipovo (Cyrillic: Шипово) is a town and municipality in Republika Srpska, central Bosnia and Herzegovina. The municipality covers an area of 510 km², much of which is forested. The Glogovac monastery of the Serb Orthodox Church is near the town. [2]

It is located between municipalities of Mrkonjić Grad in the west, Jezero in the north, Jajce and Donji Vakuf in the east, and Kupres (Republike Srpske) and Glamoč in the south.

In 1991 the municipality of Šipovo had a population of 15,553, including:
- 12,318 Serbs (See: Serbs of Bosnia and Herzegovina)
- 2,998 Muslims by nationality
- 154 Yugoslavs
- 22 Croats (See: Croats of Bosnia and Herzegovina)
- 50 others
The town of Šipovo had a total population of 8,855, including:
- 6,840 Serbs
- 1,906 Muslims by nationality
- 138 Yugoslavs
- 24 Croats
- 47 others

In 2006, the majority of inhabitants of municipality were ethnic Serbs. [3]
