[edit] Jazz community size
For those who have the episode on DVD - I suggest to add the exact count of jazz listeners. (The radio station had a text of the kind "Serving the american jazz community - all 54 members") --Tilman 16:17, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
- As I take it you mean what the jazz station says on its front. It would be: "152 Americans Can't Be Wrong". Gran2 16:32, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] WP:GA feedback
- I think the plot synopsis is unnecessarily detailed, cataloging too many individual jokes. For example, "Still stricken with grief, Lisa decides that the best way to honour Bleeding Gums' memory is by having his album played at the local jazz station KJAZZ, which proudly proclaims that "152 Americans Can't Be Wrong", but doesn't have Bleeding Gums' album "Sax on the Beach". Also, the station only has a range of 23 feet, actually making it the most powerful jazz station in all of America. could be shortened to simply, Still stricken with grief, Lisa decides that the best way to honour Bleeding Gums' memory is by having his album played at the local jazz station, KJAZZ. and the joke about Milhouse in the snake is also superfluous to the main plotline.
- I don't think SNPP.com could be considered a reputable source, since it is essentially a fan site.
- You could go into more detail as to how "Grease Eatin' Surrender Monkeys" has passed into the public lexicon - i think it made a frontpage headline in a New York newspaper?
- The body of text also needs some slight cleanup - fixing wikilinks etc.
I hope this feedback helped. I would appreciate it if you could provide feedback for my article, Peter Canavan, as the only feedback I have got so far has been from bots. Thanks.--Macca7174 13:23, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
- Most of what you've said has been cured. The synopsis: I've done what you've said, and will tidy it up, and remove a few more bits. The references: SNPP is pretty reputable, and is accepted when it comes to GAs, but I understand your reasoning and so I have left them in, but I have added a book reference as well. The cheese eating surrender monkeys section is done, with a link to the main article. Most links have been fixed. Any further feedback is welcome. Gran2 19:24, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
- What is "episode notes"? Sounds like a collection of loosely related items to me. I'd suggest removing at least that header and re-thinking the article's organization. CanadianCaesar Et tu, Brute? 03:17, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
- SNPP is no longer as a reference (thanks to a finding of another book). This means the cultural references have gone, and are replaced with a reception section. The cult refs are all included on the SNPP episode capsule anyway, which is linked to at the bottom. I've moved some section around, so now only after effects and bleeding gums past are in the episode notes section. Gran2 07:14, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
- I still think the organization can be improved somewhat. For one thing, the article talks about Bleeding Gums no longer being around as a legacy of the episode. It also talks about the notorious surrender monkeys. I'd consider joining the sections, since the fact that people outside the show talk about surrender monkeys now is also a legacy of the episode, as well as Bleeding Gum's abscence. That would ensure that a legacy section has some out-of-universe perspective to balance off and legitimize the in-universe. It would also leave only Bleeding Gum's character history left in the "Episode notes" and that header, again, should go. CanadianCaesar Et tu, Brute? 02:09, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
- I've removed the episode notes header, and the after effects and cheese eating surrender monkeys are now both included in a legacy section. Gran2 06:49, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] GA passed
I have passed this article as a GA since it has been on hold for too long and it appears the suggestions have been fixed. Make sure all new information that is added continues to be sourced and expand wherever possible. Keep up the good work, there are plenty of other Simpsons' episodes to promote to GA status. --Nehrams2020 03:33, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
