Amy and Emily Walton

Amy and Emily Walton (born March 15, 2000) are twins who have shared the role of Bethany Platt on the soap Coronation Street since birth. Tina O'Brien, who plays their on screen mother Sarah is Emily's godmother.
As they get older they are becoming less alike; however, as babies it was hard for even their mother Shirley to tell which was which when watching an episode after taping.
Commenting on which twin appeared in the episode of Bethany's first birthday, a spokeswoman for Granada television, home of Coronation Street, said "we can honestly say we have no idea which child appears in the birthday sequence"
For the scene in which Richard, Sarah's then stepfather drove the family van into the canal in 2003, Amy and Emily were fitted with custom made wetsuits. In an interview, Jack P Shepherd, who plays on-screen uncle David Platt, mentioned the canal scene, saying where they filmed the car underwater, they only needed to do one take and use one twin. However the other one was watching and was jealous of how much fun her sister had in the water and so they ended up using her too.
