Andrew Marshall (born 14 April 1975 in Bury, [[England]) is an professional footballer. He is a goalkeeper and is currently on the books of Coventry City. He has played for Norwich City, Bournemouth, Gillingham, Ipswich Town and Millwall. He also represented England Under-21s while with Norwich.

Marshall began his career as a trainee with Norwich City. He made his first team debut on 27 December 1994 as a substitute in an away match at Nottingham Forest, following an injury to first-choice goalkeeper Bryan Gunn. Gunn's injury kept him out of action for the remainder of the 1994/95 season, meaning that Marshall played in the majority of City's remaining matches that season. Although he showed promise, his inexperience was a critical factor in Norwich's slump in form. Their season ended with relegation from the Premiership, after the team had been in fifth position at the turn of the year.

Gunn was re-instated as first choice goalkeeper at Carrow Road at the start of the following season, and Marshall had loan spells at Bournemouth and Gillingham to increase his first team experience. Gunn remained the first choice until the end of the 1996/97 campaign when he was dropped for the first time in his Norwich City career. Marshall seized the opportunity to establish himself as City's number one, and despite occasional costly mistakes and lapses in concentration he became a popular figure with the club's supporters during his time at Carrow Road. Marshall would go on to make 219 appearances for the Canaries.

The 2000/01 season was Marshall's best for Norwich and would prove to be his last. It was a season of struggle for the club and they were in danger of relegation to division two until a 1-0 win against Sheffield Wednesday in their last home match of the season. Marshall's form in goal - along with the goals scored by striker Iwan Roberts - was a crucial factor in the team avoiding relegation. The supporters recognised his contribution by voting him as their player of the season. He finished narrowly ahead of Roberts in the voting. However, Marshall's contract was due to expire in the summer of 2001 and he had refused to sign a new deal, meaning that he would be able to leave the club on a free transfer in the summer. He further angered the club's supporters by signing for their bitter local rivals Ipswich Town. The move created a great deal of anger among City fans and on subsequent visits to Carrow Road as an opposing player he has been given a very hostile reception.

At the time that Marshall signed for Ipswich, they were in the Premiership and had qualified to play in the UEFA Cup during the 2001/02 season. He was placed on a large salary and sought to further his ambition of playing for England by playing regular football in the Premiership and increasing his profile. But his time at Ipswich was not happy or fruitful. His form was inconsistent and he soon found himself replaced in the first team by Paul Gerrard, though an injury to Gerrard enabled Marshall to regain his place. Ipswich were relegated from the Premiership at the end of Marshall's first season at Portman Road and his struggle to improve his consistency continued into the following season. Ipswich Town's relegation put the club in a perilous financial position and in February 2003 they went into administration. Cuts had to be made at the club and towards the end of the season the Ipswich manager Joe Royle announced that Marshall was available on a free transfer. His poor form and his high wages had been the major factor in Royle's decision.

Marshall did not leave Ipswich immediately. In November of the 2003/04 season he commenced a one month loan spell at Wolverhampton Wanderers before another loan spell, this time at Millwall (which commenced in January 2004) eventually led to a permanent move in March 2004. Marshall was part of the Millwall side that reached the FA Cup final at the end of the 2003/04 season. In the final at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium, Millwall were comfortably beaten 3-0 by Manchester United, although Marshall earned himself credit with a good performance in a match which his team was expected to lose heavily.

Marshall remained at Millwall for the following two seasons, though again he struggled to hold down his place in the side. During the 2004/05 season Millwall signed Arsenal goalkeeper Graham Stack on loan and he was preferred as first choice for a while ahead of Marshall. The Lions struggled during Marshall's time at the club and at the end of the 2005/06 season they were relegated to League One. After their relegation the club confirmed that Marshall would be allowed to leave.

On 30 June 2006, Marshall joined Coventry City on a free transfer.
