I'm a student at Caltech with a research interest in nanotechnology. I've been reading Wikipedia for about two years now, and I've decided it's time to put something back in. I generally spend my time improving the structure of existing articles (i.e. moving sections around) as well as adding information if it is relevant.
My other interests/hobbies include Star Trek, Latin, and amateur coin collecting.

[edit] Main article
When I first encountered the Nanotechnology article it had a lot of information but it was very unorganized and was biased more towards societal implications than the hard science. I've been spending a bunch of time lately giving the article a better structure and adding relevant information.
Done:
- Reorganize sections for better structure.
- Add information about current research.
- Copy-edit Fundamental Concepts section.
- Split off a new Implications of nanotechnology article.
- Create Nanomaterials article.
- Clean up external links section, fork to List of nanotechnology organizations.
To do:
- Copy-edit introduction, Tools and Techniques and Applications sections.
- Make nanotechnology navbox.
- Write a DNA Nanotechnology article. (Being prepared at /DNA Nanotechnology.)
- Overhaul List of nanotechnology applications.

It seems that many of the articles in the overlap withe each other, are too narrow in scope, and are not well-connected to each other. In many cases merging stubs and smaller articles into broader, medium-sized ones would make for a stronger organization of the concepts.
Done:
- Create and place navboxes: Template:Nanotech, Template:Nanomat, Template:MolecNano
Articles to consider merging:
- Nanoengineering -> Nanotechnology
- Nanofactory -> Molecular assembler (done)
- Nanoknot -> Carbon nanotube (done)
- Nanoring, Nanorod, Nanopillar, Nanoshell, Nanotube, Inorganic nanotube -> Nanoparticle
- Nanopollution -> Implications of nanotechnology (done)
- Royal Society's nanotech report -> Implications of nanotechnology (done)
- Nanostructure -> Nanomaterials
- Nanocrystal -> Nanoparticle
- Mechanochemistry -> Mechanosynthesis (done - left stub)
- NSOM microscopy -> Near-field scanning optical microscope (done)
[edit] House system at Caltech
I've also been cleaning up the House System at the California Institute of Technology article which was created from a merge of individual House pages but hasn't gotten much attention since then.
Done:
- Reorganize sections for better structure
- Add information about off-campus housing.
To do:
- Expand the history section including information about architecture.
- Take some photos and upload them.
