[edit] Libya's Black Day (or Mourning Day)
On October 26, 1911, the Italian invaded Libya and took many men, women, and children to unknown destinations. Till today, the fate of these people is still unknown.
The Italian authorities still refuse to supply the full list of these victims and to take responsibility for its acts.
This day commemorates both Libyan suffering and their expel from their own homeland by the occupying Italian forces.

[edit] Michael Kruecker
Michael Krücker is a German pianist, composer and editor of musical works.
[edit] Curriculum vitae
The German pianist Michael Krücker studied at the Academies of Music in Rotterdam and Düsseldorf, attending master classes with pianists Bruno Canino (chamber music), Paul Badura-Skoda, György Sandor, Tamas Vasary and Homero Francesch.
He has won numerous competitions in the United States, France and Italy as well as important scholarships, with whose support his concert activity has taken him over the years through almost the whole of Europe, to Asia, Australia, South America and the United States. The major festivals at which he has given guest performances include the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, Heidelberger Frühling (Germany), Julius Röntgen Festival Den Haag (Netherlands), Festival de la Roque d'Anthéron (France), Pomeriggi Musicali (Italy) and the Concertenfestival Knokke-Heist (Belgium). His concerts and recordings as soloist, as chamber musician, with the Cologne Radio Choir, the Chorus Musicus Cologne and the Rheinische Kantorei, with famous singers such as Christiane Oelze, Barbara Schlick and Klaus Mertens and his performances with famous orchestras such as the Gürzenich Orchestra/Cologne Philharmonic, the Cologne Radio Orchestra and the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra all meet with enthusiastic receptions from public and press alike. Another successful aspect of his activities has been the intensive cooperation with speakers, actors and authors including Konrad Beikircher, Rolf Sudbrack, Christoph Bantzer, Will Quadflieg and Jörn Pfennig. Critics unanimously praise his "faultless jeu perlé" (Berliner Morgenpost), his "extremely refined performance" (Rotterdams Dagblatt) and his "poetic music, rich in nuances" (Basler Zeitung).
Michael Krücker also performs frequently for radio and television, and has recorded many CDs (Koch Schwann, BMG, Berlin Classics, NCA and NM Classics). He has concentrated above all on bringing the forgotten repertoire from the classical and romantic eras back to the attention of a wider public, and his particular interest is playing such pieces on period instruments.
He is also editing a series of musical works for the publishers Friedrich Hofmeister (Leipzig). Michael Krücker's home is in Krefeld with Carina and their son Linus.

[edit] Physical health in schizophrenia
Physical health in schizophrenia
People with schizophrenia are at higher than average risk of physical ill health and die earlier than the general population from natural causes. The fatal conditions include cardiovascular, respiratory and metabolic disorders. [1] Although death by suicide in schizophrenia has received much needed attention, death from cardiovascular disease is far commoner, accounting for up to 75 per cent of deaths. [2] The causes of physical health problems include factors associated with mental illness and its treatment, poverty, poor housing, higher rates of smoking, poor diet and lack of exercise. [3-5]
Physical health is not yet a priority in schizophrenia
Despite the high rates of physical health problems, mental health service users report that health care workers overlook their physical health needs (6). Service users would like mental health practitioners to do more for their physical health. Rethink (7) interviewed 2,998 mental health service users, over half of whom lived with a diagnosed severe mental illness. Nearly one third said regular physical health checks were in their top three priorities for improving services. Mental health practitioners may feel unable to provide physical health input. Also there may be a feeling that people with mental health problems will not be interested in physical health education and support. In fact, much health promotion is simple and well received by service users. One review showed that people with schizophrenia benefited from a variety of behavioural interventions and achieved weight loss and lifestyle change. [8] Another study found little evidence to support one intervention over another, [9] but argued that moderately strenuous exercise was important.
Guidelines
Many guidelines reflect the need to incorporate physical health care into mental health provision, including NICE (Clinical guideline 1. Schizophrenia) www.nice.org.uk/guidance/topic/behavioural and the Maudsley Prescribing Guidelines (see resources) in the UK. In primary care, the prodigy website provides practical and accessible advice. http://www.prodigy.nhs.uk/schizophrenia However, a review of international guidelines for physical wellbeing in SMI has found that recommendations are variable. [10] UK guidelines failed to address the specifics of physical health monitoring and lifestyle intervention, while US guidelines were more descriptive. Field studies suggested that all guidelines were inadequately implemented in practice. The DoH in the UK has recommended wide-ranging action to enable the general population to choose healthier lifestyles in the Choosing Health white paper. (Choosing health: making healthy choices easier. 2004) www.dh.gov.uk/PublicationsAndStatistics/Publications/fs/en
The physical / mental health dichotomy
In the UK the National Health Service (NHS) is deeply split along physical/mental lines. Instead of treating whole people, our services tend to treat parts of people separately. One barrier to improving the physical health of people using mental health services is the sense within mental health services that this is someone else’s job; for example, the primary care team. Certainly primary teams should play the major role in physical care, but mental health services should be prepared to offer physical health assessment, promotion and support. Mental health trusts may resist using their budgets for physical health care because they see this as the role of primary care. Fortunately the chief nursing officer disagrees and recommends that all mental health nurses should attain the skills required to improve the physical wellbeing of people with mental health problems. (From values to action: the chief nursing officer’s review of mental health nursing. 2006.) [2] The commissioning framework to support the physical health needs of people with severe mental illness recommends a holistic approach with interagency collaboration. (Choosing health: supporting the physical needs of people with severe mental illness – commissioning framework. 2006.) www.dh.gov.uk/PublicationsAndStatistics/Publications/fs/en Nurses are seen as the key professional group leading wellbeing services in schizophrenia. However a range of professionals and voluntary groups can help. People with schizophrenia are motivated and able to change their lifestyles and improve their health. The outcome should be healthier and longer lives.

[edit] 112th Armor Regiment "Rarin' To Go"
Image:Http://www.tioh.hqda.pentagon.mil/Graphics/112ArmorRegtDUI.jpg
The distinctive unit insignia was originally approved for the 112th Cavalry Regiment, Texas National Guard on 9 March 1928. It was amended to add the motto on 24 April 1928. It was redesignated for the 112th Armored Cavalry Regiment, Texas National Guard on 21 June 1950. The insignia was redesignated for the 112th Armor Regiment, Texas Army National Guard on 25 July 1960. It was amended to include the Texas National Guard crest on 1 June 1961.
The National Defense Act of 1916, standardized the title "National Guard" for all organized militia units. The army reorganized the national guard units by eliminating their state designations. Brigades remained the largest cavalry units in the Guard until the mid-1930s, when Congress authorized an increase in its strength. The 56th Horse Brigade was composed of the 112th Regiment and the 124th Regiment. Both were dismounted, withdrawn from the 56th Cavalry Brigade, and reorganized as infantry with much the same composition as regiments of the 1st Cavalry Division during World War II. During World War II, the Fifty-sixth Cavalry Brigade's two regiments, the 112th and 124th, fought against the Japanese. The 112th regiment was known as the "Little Giant of the Pacific."
The transition was made, after World War II, from cavalry to armored cavalry and later to an armor regiment as part of the 49th Armored Division.
On May 1, 2004, the 49th Armored Division was officially deactivated and was redesignated as the 36th Infantry Division.

[edit] The Barrow Group
The Barrow Group, located at 312 W 36th St in the heart of midtown Manhattan, is a New York City non-profit theatre organization that serves as an artistic home for actors, writers, directors, and designers. Founding members are Seth Barrish, Lee Brock, Marcia DeBonis, Wayne Duval, Tom Riis Farrell, Martha French, Erika Goodman, Nate Harvey, Layne Huckabay, Michael Warren Powell, and Karen Sederholm. Founded in 1986 by this group of like-minded actors, The Barrow Group is currently headed by Co-Artistic Directors Seth Barrish and Lee Brock and Executive Director Eric Paeper. The mission of The Barrow Group is to enrich people's lives through affordable, engaging theatre of the highest professional quality. To fulfill its mission, the company provides its members with a stable, supportive working environment in which to cultivate their talents. The Barrow Group consists of three divisions: a producing theatre company, a profesional training school, and performance/rehearsal studios.
Named for the street where founding members Seth Barrish and Nate Harvey lived at the time, The Barrow Group is dedicated to exploration of vulnerability and humanity in an extraordinarily realistic way. The company focuses on an extremely realistic acting style which gives audiences the feeling they are watching real people in real situations. The Barrow Group's work is based on simple philosophies: spontaneous behavior is more interesting to watch than planned behavior, and the best technique is invisible and does not inhibit an actor's freedom.
The Barrow Group is constantly striving for theatrical development of not just its actors, but literary works, as well. A constant series of workshops and readings are always happening year-round, including programming such as the Play Development Program and the Blue Plate Special, one night dedicated every month specifically for creative development.
Notable alumni and supporters of The Barrow Group include Terrance McNally, Lanford Wilson, Craig Lucas, Justin Kirk, Anne Hathaway, Denis O'Hare, Vera Farmiga, Allen Coulter, and Ann Reinking.
[edit] Notable History
The first fully staged production produced by The Barrow Group was an evening of Joseph Pintaro short plays entitled On the Wing in 1987. At the same time, the company members continued to meet weekly to challenge and enrich each others' performances with improvisation and scene work.
In 1993, The Barrow Group created a Theatrical Outreach Program for Students (TOPS), a sustained arts-in-education program that has been integrated into the curricula of the New York public schools. Students participating in TOPS are at-risk adolescents, most often living in the shelter and foster care systems.
Following this exciting program, in 1994, The Barrow Group School was founded. Under the direction of current School Director Amy Loughead, class offerings include scene study, directing, acting for film and television, shakespeare, clowning, solo show workshop, script analysis, musical theatre, and a full-time acting apprentice program, where students are offered the opportunity to work for The Barrow Group in exchange for intensive acting training wth Seth Barrish and Lee Brock.
In January 2000, Seth Barrish's novel "An Actor's Companion: 99 Bits of Craft" was published and The Barrow Group technique can now be read and dissemenated world-wide.
The mainstage theatre at The Barrow Group was completed in August 2004, and in addition to the main theatre, the studio theatre also exists for smaller workshop productions and developmental readings.
