Barthez Battalion

The Barthez Battalion are a group of fictional characters in the popular Beyblade anime and manga series. The team consists of Miguel, Matilda, Aaron and Claude. The team only appear during the third season, Beyblade G-Revolution and are shown to be cheaters, and follow their coach Barthez.
Although the team are cheaters during the Beyblade World Championships, they are really only following their coaches orders. During a match with Tyson Granger the team discovers that you shouldn't have to cheat to win, as Beyblading is just for fun. Barthez Battalion then ditch their coach and fight the rest of the tournament fairly. Although they are knocked out of the tournament, they accept their defeat gracefully.
Matilda and Miguel reappear after the tournament to help Tyson Granger to become stronger to beat the BEGA League. Barthez Battalion represent Europe during the Beyblade World Championships. =

Matilda is the only female member of the Barthez Battalion. She is a quite, good natured girl who lacks confidence, and it is shown she fears her coach Barthez. She was taught to believe that you must do anything to win a Beyblade match by her coach, but discovers that it's how you play that matters. Matilda looks up to Miguel as their leader and shows respect for him. While she is generally quiet and has a mousey voice during the show, she put her all into her Beyblade matches.
Matilda's bitbeast is Pierce Hedgehog. Her Beyblade was however destroyed when Coach Barthez decided to destroy it during her Beyblade match against Daichi Sumeragi. Her attack is Poison Needle, and her Beyblade still is a combination of Attack, Defence and Endurance. During her Beyblade matches, when she launches her Poison Needle, she seems to grow butterfly wings, despite the fact that her bitbeast takes the form of a hedgehog.
Matilda only appears during season three, Beyblade G-Revolution.

Miguel is the team leader and bravest member of Barthez Battalion. Miguel seems to give the other members of Barthez Battalion confidence, as whenever he stands up to Barthez, the rest of the team follow him. Miguel has never really had the chance to use his own style of Beyblading, as Barthez has always had control over his Beyblade matches, and often created illegal Beyblades to help Miguel win.
It is only during a Beyblade match with Tyson Granger does Miguel realise that he doesn't need Barthez's sneaky tricks to win, and he stand up to Barthez, telling him that he wants to Beyblade on his own for once.
Miguel is shown to be very popular with fangirls during the show, often having screaming crowds of fangirls waiting for him at his Beyblade matches, yet he doesn't seem to be the kind to care. It is believed that Miguel and the rest of his team are Spanish. Miguels bitbeast is Dark Gargole, and takes on the form of a Gargole.

Claude was personally trained by Barthez himself. He usually never questions Barthez to his face, but often wonders if what he is doing is the right thing. Claude shows respect for Miguel and his skills. Claude was injured during his battle with Rick Anderson, although he could have moved out of the way of the attack, Barthez ordered him to stay were he was so that the crowd would favour Barthez Battalion over the All Starz.
Claude follows Miguels examples and stand up to Barthez. His bitbeast is Rapid Eagle, and when he launches his attack, he grows angel like wings.

Aaron never questions Barthez's orders, and usually does what he is told like Claude. He seems to lack confidence and doesn't stand up for himself. His bitbeast is Rusing Boar.
